NOTES: An ancestor who overlapped the entire lifetime of
William
Shakespeare (though perhaps as a busy and fairly prosperous yeoman
farmer
in Wiltshire, he had no awareness of London theatre), and whose will,
transcribed by Elizabeth French in Genealogical Research in England,
is one of several from the Rolfe family in this era. His brother
(first name unknown) married Alice
______ (d. 1604/5), and their granddaughter Honor
Rolfe married John and Honur's son Henry
(1585- 1642).
