Hannah Hoope

NOTES: Skelton is way north in Yorkshire, much closer to Durham than to York.  In a 1696 letter, George Harlan, Elizabeth Duck's husband, writing from America, sent his "wife's dear love" to "Robert Hoop and Elenor."  Robert Hoop (variantly Hoopes or Hoope) was born in Yorkshire in 1639.  It seems possible that he was Hannah's younger brother and that Elizabeth was remembering a favorite uncle and aunt (we might also infer that her own parents, Hannah and Ezekeliah, were dead by then, although it is also possible that she didn't mention them because she would write directly to them).  If so, that would make Hannah's parents John and Isabell Hoopes of Moorsom, Yorkshire.  We should see if we can substantiate that.
