DIED, May 29, 1698, buried in Woburn, Mass.
NOTES: See notes on Anna Rolfe. He must
have come to New England in the same general wave of immigration as she,
but we would need to know where his father died (in 1638) to know whether
he came as a child in a family (as she did), or as a young adult seeking
his fortune. My guess is the former, as he seems to be quite well
off by the time he gets married; he agreed to pay 108 pounds to the two
daughters of her first marriage, an amount that would have equalled the
Rolfe assets over the previous 100 years!
