John Coddington

NOTES:   Was only two years old when his father died, and lost his older sister just a year later (was this a plague year in Boston?).  Presumably grew up mostly under a stepfather's influence, his mother having married John Jep(h)son less than a year after his father's death.

Served under Major Simon Willard in the Middlesex Militia during "King Philip's War," August 23, 1674 to January 25, 1675.  (That hardly seems time to draw fire, in those slow-moving days!)  Moved from Mass. to Woodbridge, N.J., bought land there in 1687.  Second wife was Mary White, m. 5/1/1691.
