This research is being conducted by Michael Draper and Rachel Pittard, students in Dr. Bill Altermatt’s Social Psychology class at Hanover College. The experiment in which you are asked to participate is designed to examine topics of discussion in close friendships. You will be asked to think of a close friend for the duration of the study and will answer the study questions regarding this friend. After you have finished answering all the questions, you will be debriefed.

The entire experiment will take no longer than 20 minutes. There are no known risks involved with participation in the study beyond those of everyday life. The information you provide during the experiment is completely anonymous; at no time will your name be associated with the responses you give. If you have any questions after the study which the debriefing screen does not address, please contact Michael Draper at draperm@hanover.edu, Rachel Pittard at pittardr@hanover.edu, or our faculty advisor Bill Altermatt, Ph.D. at altermattw@hanover.edu.
